Beaches and public pools

There are five public beaches in the Sigtuna area: Sjudargårdsbadet and Munkholmsbadet in Sigtuna town, Steningebadet in Märsta, Rosersbergsbadet in Rosersberg and Åholmsbadet by lake Fysingen.

In Märsta, Midgårdsbadet offers both indoor pools and outdoor swimming. Sigtuna Fritidscenter offers a public indoor pool.

Midgårdsbadet

The Water Park Midgårsbadet is a unique public swimming area with biological treatment system.

The bath consists of indoor baths and four outdoor pools; a diving pool, a handicap accessible swimming pool and a smaller children’s pool.

The cleaning of the outdoor swimming pools is completely biological. Water circulates through a special cleaning basin with filter stones and aquatic plants. The principle is the same as in a natural wetland system. No chemical additives are used and the method has been well proved.

The outdoor pools are open from June to September.
