Ice skating event Vikingarännet
On February 16, the world’s biggest annual ice skating event, Vikingarännet, takes place on the ice of lake Mälaren. The race runs from Uppsala, via Sigtuna, to Stockholm along an old viking route. The many cultural landmarks, safe ice, cleared tracks, service and support along the route makes Vikingarännet a popular skating race.
Tjejrännet (women only) and Halvrännet 35 km
Starting in Sigtuna and finishing in Stockholm, the 35 km is a little bit less than half the Vikingarännet.
Vikingarännet is organized by Friluftsfrämjandet and Svenska Skridskoförbundet.
